Know Kidney Disease Early
July 13, 2026

Kidneys filter waste, reabsorb nutrients, and balance fluid and electrolytes. When kidney function declines, waste builds up and other body systems are affected.
Main causes: poorly controlled diabetes and hypertension, high salt intake, and long-term use of NSAID painkillers.

Warning signs: pitting swelling in the legs, feet, or face; abnormal urine — foamy, bloody, or frequent at night; fatigue, loss of appetite, nausea; and hard-to-control high blood pressure.
Prevention: cut salt and sodium, drink enough clean water, and monitor kidney function (BUN/creatinine) regularly.
PNC provides Kidney Care IV and the Total Liver-Kidney RiskInsight programme to assess risk and plan preventive care before chronic kidney failure.
